Introduction
The Ministry of Business is a book to help anyone of any faith learn the fundamentals of success. Our lives are watched over by an all-powerful and all-loving God who has a plan for us. Small parts of this plan are revealed to us through personal spiritual promptings. You will have an inner peace by controlling your life, and controlling your destiny will bring peace and happiness. Faith, through the bad times and the good times, will help you gain perspective of your religion and help you succeed in your entrepreneurial career. Covenanted individuals will have better success because they will have Heavenly Father's help in their career choices. Finding a trusted, gospel-centered mentor is a key to your success. Always remember, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are here with you to enhance your professional career, to help you plan and set life goals effectively, or to become a successful entrepreneur.
He has a Plan for us
God sends us spiritual promptings through our thoughts and feelings and if we act upon those thoughts and feelings we will be following His plan for us. He speaks to our heart and gives us divine inspiration to guide our life down unique pathways. This concept is a crucial fundamental understanding, as long as we follow our heart and live according to our personal moral code. Following our heart does not always mean that life will be easy or that success will be instantaneous, but it will provide us with the confidence to help us achieve our goals as a successful entrepreneur. I started this journey because of a prompting I had. This voice kept telling me to continue my education and learn as much as I possibly can. So, I went to my Bishop who introduced me to the Pathway program. I am blessed to have followed this prompting. The covenant I have made with my Heavenly Father has guided me to the lighted path and connected me to Heaven. The importance of following this prompting has helped me grow as an individual. I am learning to become a leader and I love leading and helping others with their goals. Elder Richard G. Scott said “Father in Heaven knew that you would face challenges and be required to make some decisions that would be beyond your own ability to decide correctly,” He sent us the Holy ghost for spiritual guidance because He wants us to succeed and use this help consistently for peace and happiness.
The Formula
Keeping and obeying the commandment to have no other gods before the true God of Heaven helps us to avoid greed, the dangers of materialism, and self-centeredness. Live according to spiritual laws to experience first-hand blessings of obedience and gain increased faith and obedient living. We have individual success and lasting happiness when we get our education, make our mark, and get prepared to be of service. Learning as much as we can, we will begin having private victories of knowledge, organization, preparedness, and confidence. You become self-reliant when you make your mark in the world. You will discover yourself when you have experienced the joys of serving. To gain even more happiness for success you need to get up early, work hard, and find your idea or service. By following these simple rules, you will have peace and happiness. Helaman 3:37 says “And it came to pass in the fifty and third year of the reign of the judges, Helaman died, and his eldest son Nephi began to reign in his stead. And it came to pass that he did fill the judgment-seat with justice and equity; yea, he did keep the commandments of God, and did walk in the ways of his father.” Nephi kept His commandments therefore, he prospered in the judgement seat and ruled with equity. When we keep the commandments and have faith we will have the holy ghost as our companion who will help us succeed in life.
Faith
Beginning in an unsure career path takes faith and commitment to our Loving Heavenly Father. There will be rough times ahead of you, for instance, Steven A. Hitz shares a story about his road bump. About eight months after opening his company “Golden Coast,” he was served with a lawsuit from his former employer because he left them to start his own company. This lawsuit gave them only $4000 income for their first year in business so they could keep as much money as possible in the business. This lawsuit caused him temporarily to not be allowed to do business in Southern California with the sincere prayer and faith Hitz moved forward and started opening his business in other parts of California. It was a 5-year goal to open all over California, but because of this lawsuit, he was able to open early in other parts of California. This was a blessing because by the end of the lawsuit his business was opening in four states and by the following year they were operating in eleven states and going to go national. At their 5-year mark, they were operating in all fifty states. The lawsuit helped the business grow bigger, faster than anticipated and he would have been content to stay in California. Hitz says that by acting on the promptings in his heart, that held open the door for Heavenly Father to put his hand in and help. We must trust God and know that in the end, everything will work out for the best. Paths of opportunity will open for us if we exercise our faith.
The Bridge to Success
The bridge to success lies within your covenants with Heavenly Father, the convent is an agreement between you and your Father in Heaven. After you enter into this covenant with God you are responsible for how well you live according to morals, values, and spiritual knowledge available to you. Your inner voice will guide you to live covenants and give you inspiration to choose the right path for you. By obeying God and living according to your moral code you will uphold and honor your covenants with God and trust in God, he will fight your battles and guide you with increased inspiration. Always remember that God is enough. Keeping the formula at the forefront of our minds and working to achieve success will help us to keep our covenants, which will help us cross the bridge into eternal happiness. It is important to have family, friends and mentors cheering for us and keeping those relationships close to keep our covenants with God.
Strong Mentors
A mentor could be the difference between succeeding and failing. You need to interview people and get the feel for what kind of person they are and how they run their business. When you find your mentor you need to listen to them, they will have great advice because they have gone through the same types of trials. Mentors could be people like your parents, tutors, friends who sincerely care, church leaders, or community leaders. Adopting a strong mentor is one of the most effective things we can do to overcome the challenges and fears of starting on the journey of entrepreneurship. Mentors are typically people who have already experienced the challenges of life as a business person and has overcome those challenges. Mentors are people who place great value in sharing their wealth of knowledge, experience, and ideas. A strong mentor will care about you as a person and will listen to your concerns, questions, and ideas.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the fundamentals of success are measured by your faith and spiritual promptings. Knowing that God has a plan for us and following the formula given we will become successful entrepreneurs. Faith in Jesus Christ and Heavenly father will help us get through the rough times and may even lead to bigger paths. Keeping our covenants and living to our moral codes will help us be in good standing with our Father in Heaven who will help us through our trials. It will be hard to follow the path, but if we keep Heavenly Father close we will succeed. Finding a strong mentor is very important to our success. We can talk to them about anything we fear or our concerns and they will be able to help because they have already been through these life challenges.
